versuche doch mal beim Start in die Zeile unten, einzugeben "nomodeset". Das hatte nicht nur bei mir, sondern auch bei einigen anderen geholfen. Lass die Anführungszeichen aber weg. Ich weiss nicht ob es hilft, aber versuchen kost ja nichts.

erst noch einmal vielen Dank, dass Du Dir soviel Mühe gibst meinen Hobel wieder in die Spur zu bekommen. Aufgrund Deiner gestrigen Antwort habe ich mal im Forum gesucht und bin auch fündig geworden. Da gibt es einen Thread bezüglich des Erstellens mittels einer Live CD. Das habe ich gemacht. Habe mir eine Live Cd von Suse 11.2 KDE runter geladen. Mittels der Anleitung habe ich eine xorg.conf erstellt. Übrigens mit der Live CD habe ich die perfecte Auflösung. Wenn ich aber nun die xorg.conf unter X11 lege, fährt der X11 Server nicht mehr hoch und bricht ab und übergibt an den Textzeilenmodus. Was muss ich nun machen ??? Muß ich ggf. eine andere Datei löschen ??? Als Hilfe habe ich mal den Text der erstellten xorg.conf ausgelesen und häng ihn hier mal an; vielleicht siehst Du ja das Problem sofort ???
Nur noch einmal zur Hilfe, ich habe eine Grafik Karte Intel GMA 4500M.

Werde voraussichtlich am kommenden Wochenende die Sache mit Sax2 in Angriff nehmen. Habe mir auch schon mal den gesamten Threat ausgedruckt, damit ich die Unterlage abarbeiten kann. Jetzt geht aber sofort auch schon die erste Frage los, den Sax2 kann man als "standard" oder als X11 Utility runter laden. Welche Version muss ich nehmen ???

versuchs doch mal mit smb und der IP Adresse Deines Servers. Der Syntax also würde lauten:
smb://192.168.178.46
Bei der IP musst Du natürlich Deine entsprechende IP Deines Servers eingeben.

versuch mal in die Zeile für die Optionen nicht nur die VGA Info einzugeben, sondern auch "nomodeset". Das hatte bei mir Wunder gewirkt. Aber auf jeden Fall ohne die Anführungszeichen.

das ist genau der Ort an dem ich immer versucht habe die Auflösung zu ändern. An einer anderen Stelle habe ich es bisher noch nie versucht, bzw. einen anderen Ort habe ich bisher nicht gekannt. Also da steht immer die Auflösung drin, die sich nicht ändern lassen will. Wenn es noch ein anderes Dienstprogramm gibt, so habe ich das bisher noch nicht getestet.

jetzt weiss ich aber wieder mal gar nicht wo ich diese KDE Systemeinstellungen suchen soll. Es tut mir wirklich leid, dass ich solche blöden Fragen stellen muß. Habe einen Menüeintrag gefunden, der da heisst: KRandTRay. Dieses Programm gibt es aber nicht. Ist zwar im Menü eingetragen, habe ich auch mit YAST gesucht, wird mir aber auch dort als nicht vorhanden angegeben.
Ansonsten wüßte ich jetzt nicht, wie ich an die KDE Einstellungen kommen soll. Bitte um Hilfe.

vielen Dank für Deine Hilfe. Habe mir mal den gesamten Ablauf vom Sax2 angesehen. Da sehe ich doch eine Menge Stolpersteine und mögliche Fehler, die ich da reinbauen kann.
Um dann lieber auf Nummer sicher zu gehen werde ich erst einmal abwarten und hoffen, dass da mal ein Update kommt, das die Sache wieder einlenkt, denn bei meiner ersten Installation war ja alles OK, erst nach einem System-Update änderte sich das in diese jetzt vorliegende Version.

Habe die Ausgabe von cvt in die Datei kopiert und zwar kam folgendes dabei raus

Es wird aber nichts ausgegeben und in den Größenangaben steht immer noch 1024 X 768 jetzt zickt die Kiste aber. Was soll ich jetzt machen ???
