Naja was heißt perfekt, mit dem Standardtreiber hab ich halt keine 3D-Beschleunigung. Außerdem kann ich die Auflösung nicht einstellen, immer wenn ich was bezüglich SaX verstelle, geht beim nächsten Neustart iwas nich.

Hallo zusammen.
Mein Problem stellt sich folgendermaßen dar: Ich habe openSUSE 11.1 (KDE) per Istall-DVD frisch installiert. War soweit alles ok, bis ich Repositories hinzugefügt hab, und zwar denke ich, dass es im speziellen die Repos aus der Community waren von Compiz und ATI. Also nach der Installation der Pakete von diesen Repos (weiß nich mehr genau welche das waren, halt die empfohlenen) war erstmal die Arbeitsfläche viel zu riesig, also die ging halt über die "Bildschirmgrenzen" hinaus, wie beim 2-Monitor-Betrieb, nur halt mit einem Monitor^^.
Desweiteren fiel mir noch auf, dass die Anzeige zb. beim Ladebildschirm, also beim booten, nicht korrekt an den Bildschirm angepasst ist, da half auch das Auto-Adjust vom Monitor nich.
Das größte Problem kam dann nach dem Neustart. Es kam der Ladebildschirm von openSUSE (grüner Hintergrund, grauer Balken mit openSUSE Logo und Fortschrittsanzeige) und dann, wenn das System eig das GUI laden müsste, wurde der Bildschirm schwarz.
Ich hab dann mit der Istall-DVD eine Aktualisierung durchgeführt, dabei wurden dann die ATI und Compiztreiber deinstalliert und alles hat wieder einigermaßen funktioniert.Da mir aber zb der Fehler mit der verschobenen Anzeige schon unter Windows aufgefallen ist, muss ja iwas verkehrt sein.
Meine Graka ist eine ATI Radeon 3450 HD, mein PC ein Dell Ispiron 530.
Achja, unter den Hardwareinfos wird Graka unter dem richtigen Namen aufgeführt, wenn ich aber die Systeminfos aufruf isses die Mesa Project Software Rasterizer
Also meine Frage: Ist es wahrscheinlich, dass die Graka ne Macke hat oder gibt es für mein Problem Lösungswege auf Softwareebene?

Also auf der Install-DVD von openSUSE 11.1 wars nich drauf, ich hab jetzt einfach meinen PC nach oben geschleppt und direkt mit Kabel an den Router gebunden, die Firmware runtergeladen und jetzt funktionierts

Hallo, danke für die freundliche Hilfe. Dass die Firmware fehlt, hab ich auch schon erkannt^^, nur da ich eben keinen Internetanschluss hab unter Linux ist das mit dem Repo hinzufügen recht unpraktisch. Gibt es eine Lösung die auch offline anwendbar ist? Ich hab schon nach Firmwaredownloads gesucht, finde aber keine. Wär cool wenn mir jemand die passende Datei hochladen würde, dann könnte ich das aufn Stick schmeißen und dann unter Linux installieren.
