nachdem alles lief, habe ich mir auch den angegebenen Link angesehen.
Fünf rpm-Dateien zu hplip sind dort aufgeführt. Momentan ist bei mir die Version 3.20.11-2.1 installiert und ich möchte, da der Scanner jetzt läuft, an dieser Schraube nicht drehen.
Ich war immer über die Ausgabe in "https://software.opensuse.org/package/hplip-hpijs" gestolpert, wo ausgeführt ist: "Es ist kein offizielles Paket für openSUSE Leap 15.3 verfügbar", was für mich der Maßstab war, da es, wie ich es sah, hier die offizielle Aussage von opensuse.org steht.
Die von euch angegebene Adresse war mir bisher nicht bekannt. Demnächst weis ich aber, wo ich Aktuelles finden kann.

Der schwere, platzraubende Epson-A3-Scanner harrt jetzt wieder im Keller bis zum nächsten Einsatz.

Ich hatte es schon nicht mehr für möglich gehalten, den Scanner mit den vorhanden Treibern ans Laufen zu bringen.

Nach zypper install hplip einmal hp-check,

und nochmals hp-check ausgeführt.

HP-Geräteverwaltung probiert. Auch dort wird der Scanner nicht erkannt.
In Yast hplip-scan-utils gefunden und installiert ==> kein Erfolg.
Im Terminal hp-setup ausgeführt.

Was mich irritiert, ist die Meldung "error: Unable To read the XML data from device"
Außer, dass der Drucker als 2. Drucker hinzu aktiviert wurde, läuft das Scannen auch mit dem hinzugefügten Drucker auch nicht.

Habe Folgendes gemacht:
Zunächst die Firewall deaktiviert.Dann XSane aufgerufen mit folgendem Ergebnis:
Feld mit Ausgabe: Fehler beim Öffnen des Gerätes 'hpaio:/net/hp-laserjet-mfp-m129-mn134?ip=192.168.1.22&queue=false': Fehler während Geräte I/O
Mit einer 2. Ausgabe: Driver Plug-in Installation is required; HP Device requires proprietary plug-in wich is missing. Click 'Next' to continue plug-in installation.
Next gewählt. Dann "Download and install the plug-in from an HP authorized server (recommended)" mit "Next" gewählt.
Darauf folgten die 2 Ausgaben:
Failed to install Plug-in.
Either you have chosen to skip the Plug-in installation or entered incorrect Password.
und
/home/tilly/.hplip/hplip-3.20.11-plugin.run file does not match its checksum. File may have been corrupted or altered
Auch nach einem unbedingten Neuladen aller hplip-Dateien mit YAST lief das Procedere wieder wie oben geschildert ab.
Nebenfrage: Eigentlich wollte ich die Rechnerausgaben als Bilddateien über die Auswahl "Bild" der Klarheit wegen einfügen. Wie geht das? Der Eintrag "/home/tilly/Downloads/HP_Ausgabe.png" wurde nicht akzeptiert.

Besten Dank DarkTrinity für deinen Vorschlag, den ich leider heute erst gesehen habe.
Folgendes habe ich unternommen:
Codefirewall-cmd --zone=public --add-port=9100/tcp --permanent firewall-cmd --reloadim Terminal eingegeben und anschließend den Drucker neu gestartet.
Leider blieb der Erfolg aus. Fehler von mir? Wenn nicht, wer kann weiterhelfen?

Alle Versuche, die ich unternahm, liefen ins Leere.
Vermutlich liegt es an „hplip“. Am erfolgreichsten erschien mir die Version 3.21.8.
Sie erkennt, dass Leap 15.3 installiert ist, stoppt aber nach BUILD AND INSTALL
mit der Meldung :
Codeerror: Configure failed with error: General/unknown error error: output = ./configure: line 2272: config.log: Permission denied ./configure: line 2282: config.log: Permission deniedDie Hinweise aus Hplip (mal wieder), mit dem Löschen der hplip-Verzeichnisse brachten auch keinen Erfolg.
Starte ich mit der Konsole, kommt die Meldung
CodeInvalid MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 keyDer Drucker funktioniert über LAN, Scannen über LAN von Windows aus ebenfalls; also kein Hardwareproblem.
Mit Leap 15.2 gab's keine Schwierigkeiten.
