Dankeschön, der build ist scheinbar erfolgreich geschafft! Ein Problem habe ich noch - beim Starten bekomme ich immer nur das hier:

Es öffnet sich zwar ein Visit-Fenster mit einem Ladebalken, der bleibt jedoch immer hängen - womöglich wegen der obigen Fehlermeldungen...?

das hat mich wieder einen Schritt weiter gebracht, nun sieht der Fehler so aus:

Das Paket zlib-devel ist installiert, dementsprechend wundert mich das Problem hier...

bin über das obige Problem hinweggekommen, indem ich

./build_visit3_0_2 --openssl

verwendet habe. Jetzt hat der Installer ca. eine Stunde gearbeitet, die nächste Baustelle ist wohl VTK bzw. eine benötigte Bibliothek...

danke, langsam geht es voran, mit jede Menge zusätzlich installierter Bibliotheken. Jetzt bin ich allerdings wieder auf ein Problem gestoßen, bei dem ich nicht weiterkomme:

Leider geht's trotz Installation von OpenSSL devel nicht weiter... weißt du woran es hier scheitert?

schon mal vielen Dank für die schnelle und hilfreiche Antwort, dann weiß ich schon mal dass das ja gar nicht klappen konnte...

Ich habe jetzt mal versucht, den build zu starten, leider gibts gleich die ersten Fehler... gibts irgendwo eine Liste an Abhängigkeiten, die ich vorher abklappern sollte?

Hallo zusammen,

ich komme seit längerem nicht mit einer Software-Installation voran, und zwar die Visualisierungssoftware "Visit", Version 3.0.2.

Die Executables die zur Installation bereitstehen gibt es für Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora und RHEL. Unser Systemadministrator meinte dass ich am besten die RHEL-Version verwenden sollte, ich habe es mittlerweile jedoch mit allen einzelnen Optionen versucht. Ich habe die Installationsanleitung befolgt und auch keine Fehlermeldung bekommen, am Ende wurde jeweils ein "bin"-Ordner im Installationsverzeichnis erstellt. Dort ist aber jeweils nur ein symbolischer Link mit dem Namen "visit" zu finden und kein entsprechendes Binary.

Die Alternative wäre noch ein build from source mit eigener Kompilierung, darauf würde ich gerne verzichten...

Hat jemand Tipps für mich?
