Hi!
Currently, I am using openSuse 13.2. And today, my laptop could only provide me with a console login, since there was no space left on device. Fortunately I was able to clean /tmp/* and /var/tmp/* manually, and now I can use my laptop again.
When I was using an older version of openSuse, I used YaST's
/etc/sysconfig editor to create a cron job to automatically clean temporary files.
There used to be variables such as CLEAR_TMP_DIRS_AT_BOOTUP. But in 13.2 I can not find these variables. So, the old recipe to prevent my disk to fill up apparently does not work with openSuse 13.2 any more.
What can I do now to prevent the problem from happening again?
Best regards,
Simon
